All of our CSC Funded Grant campers will participate in 6 – 7 weeks of swim lessons.

Our Recreational Camp campers will be swimming at the YMCA Aquatic Center in Pembroke Pines. We have established a wonderful working relationship with the YMCA team and their lifeguards.

All campers are required to take a swim test the first time they attend the Aquatic Center. The lifeguards will then assign them a colored wristband which we document.

The wristband colors are as follows:

RED:   Non-Swimmer – Allowed to go to the water park (about ankle deep) and the shallow end of the pool

YELLOW: Swimmer but still learning – Allowed to go to the water park, shallow end and     semi-deep end of the pool, and water slides

GREEN: Swimmer – Allowed to go to the water park, entire pool, water slides, and diving board.

Campers are allowed to test each time they go to the pool if they choose to do so. Your camper may be in swim lessons or may get nervous the first time. We encourage them to keep learning and test again each week if they want a different color.
